The IMS campus has been designed to emerge out on the foothills of the Himalayas.
The opaque block stone walls housing the services, similar to traditional Himalayan stupas, span the usable spaces between them. The linear wall at the south hides the campus while creating a striking entrance to the mountains and further to the Vaisnodevi Mata Temple.
The overall built mass is staggered to have maximum sun intake, especially during the low sun winter months, orienting majorly towards the east and the west direction.
The majority of the built mass is raised on pilotis. It touches the ground at necessary points, keeping the entire ground free for public use and keeping the natural swale on the site as existing as possible.
